The Colony Meadery, the Lehigh Valley’s award-winning producer of fermented honey, recently announced a partnership with Stroudsburg’s Banter’s Hard Cider that will result in a chance for more customers to try each company’s beverages.
Soon, The Colony Meadery will begin offering Banter’s Hard Cider in its Allentown location at the Bridgeworks Enterprise Center on Harrison Street and its Bethlehem location within the Moravian Book Shop. Banter’s Hard Cider will also begin offering a selection of Colony Meadery Meads at its Courthouse Square location in Stroudsburg, when it officially opens.
The partnership has been a long time coming, however.

“My wife and I came up with the idea to make hard cider after visiting a cidery in Canada around 2009,” Banter’s Hard Cider Owner, Steve Brancato, said. “We were then able to meet the owners of Colony Meadery through mutual friends soon after that.”
The Colony Meadery agreed with Brancato to allow him to make his hard cider at their Allentown location. The early partnership gave them a chance to learn more about cider.
“Meeting like-minded businesses owners is always a fun part of what we do,” said Greg Heller-LaBelle, Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer of The Colony Meadery. “We’re excited to be working with Banter’s Hard Cider and we think it will give our customers another impressive beverage to try.”
Brancato said that Banter’s Hard Cider’s brick and mortar location will open shortly.
